Studio
Established in 2010 WATGUNLOW Architects Ltd is located in a delightful studio on Jervois Road in Ponsonby.
An amalgamation of the talents and skills of directors Hamish Gunns and Kit Lowe. We have a great team of devoted and passionate designers committed to delivering intelligently conceived and well executed projects.
Design Philosophy
We are people focussed. We thrive on the fact that our clients bring us the greatest diversity of goals and most interesting aspirations. We love to learn and each new challenge brings us a deeper understanding of people’s relationship to architecture.
That’s why we bring all of our experience to every project but we leave our egos and previous projects at home. This is about you.

We are proud members of Te Kāhui Whaihanga New Zealand Institute of Architects (NZIA), a professional organisation that represents registered architects and promotes architecture in Aotearoa New Zealand.
We donate trees with Trees That Count to mitigate our carbon footprint over the next 50 years, and help protect New Zealand’s threatened biodiversity. That’s good for our carbon footprint, and good for Aotearoa.

Hamish has over 20 years of local and international design experience at large and small scales. He is at home with broad fundamentals and small details alike.
Hamish is known for his unflagging sense of humour and the energy he brings to every relationship.
Hamish believes the design process is enhanced by open and constructive collaboration. He strives always to reflect his client’s culture, lifestyle and personality in their project.
